Big Win for U13 Boys Field
GUELPH - The Orillia under-13 boys field lacrosse team opened its season on Saturday at the University of Guelph. The team was short eight players and still managed to earn the two huge wins.

Orillia defeated Kawartha Lakes, 6-2, and followed that up with a 9-2 victory over Mimico. Bjorn Dielman was solid in net and moved the ball well to assist in the transition game.  Taylor Beiers led the team with seven goals and an assist. Also finding the scoresheet were Jack Marwick (3G, 3A), Cole Rasmussen (2G, 4A), while Christian Copegog, Tyler Koch and Michael Lajoie had a goal each. Kailem McDonald added an assist.Lucas Hopkins and Cole Janson were solid on defence, combined with the long-pole skill of Walker Lazier to keep shots on net to a minimum. Aidan Colebrook was a workhorse in transition all day long. The boys play their first home game in four years on Saturday, April 18 at the West Orillia Sports Complex as they face rivals Innisfil and Huntsville.  Game times are 10 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.
