This past Monday, The Orillia Minor Lacrosse Association held its annual year end banquet, getting players, bench staff and parents together to celebrate the season and to acknowledge hard work, dedication and contributions of those involved.

Major Awards
FRANK PIPER BAIN AWARD
Presented in memory of Frank the "Piper" Bain. This award is given to one athlete that is a team's most elite and skilled player and best represents what Bain was to his teams, a reliable player with a good attitude, who gave all he could give in every game.

BOYD BALKWILL AWARD
Presented in honor of Boyd Balkwill, this award is given to one player who displays outstanding dedication and commitment to team play. A reliable player with a great attitude who is the best all-round offensive and defensive player on the team.

KEN MCLAUGHLIN AWARD
The McLaughlin award is given for excellence in goaltending.

MICHAEL VINCENT PAOLUCCI AWARD
(U17 only)
On December 13, 1998, Orillia lost one of its young lacrosse stars in a tragic accident, Michael Paolucci. This award is in his memory and best represents the player Michael was, not necessarily the strongest player on the team, (one who isn't a top play-maker or scorer) but who is truly a team player and loves the game. The Michael Vincent Paolucci Award is for outstanding dedication and commitment by a U17 player.
