Rolling into Provincial Championships this past weekend with a single win under their belts for the season, our
Orillia Sports Medicine U9-2 team rallied together to finish round robin play in a three-way tie for top spot with a 2-1 record. The tie-breaking formula placed the Kings in 2nd place, allowing them a chance at redemption against Niagara 2, the only team that had beaten them so far in the tournament.
The final match found Orillia jumping out to an early lead. Maintaining constant pressure on the Thunderhawks' goaltender and playing strong team defence allowed them to keep their lead for the rest of the hard-fought game.
The Orillia Minor Lacrosse Association is so proud of this team for the incredible development they have shown over the course of the season and their excellent showing at the Provincial Championships!
